Alameda Attack High School Women’s Lacrosse Team Finishes 5th in the NCJLA Championship Tournament
The Alameda Attack high school women’s lacrosse team was successful in its first season at the high school level, placing 5th at the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association (NCJLA) championship tournament on May 10.
This high school women’s team is a collaboration between SJND and Alameda Attack Lacrosse Club. Girls from SJND and several other local schools play on the team. SJND students include Rachel Hungerford, Adriana Morales, Mary Carmen Reid, Rebecca Rochlin and Brooke Tyler. The team has a very bright future ahead, as its players are all 8th graders, freshmen and sophomores.
The women’s team went into the NCJLA championship tournament with a record of 11-5 overall, 9-3 in league play and ranked 3rd in their division. At the championship tournament, they were defeated by Stockton 9 to 7 but won their game against Folsom 10 to 8, finishing 5th in the tournament.
