Carson Bridges '17 and Hunter Hennigh '17 Make All-State Baseball Teams
SJND’s Varsity Baseball team had a successful season last spring and won the North Coast Section (NCS) Division IV championship. Two of the team’s players, Carson Bridges ’17 and Hunter Hennigh ’17 were selected for the MaxPreps 2017 California Small Schools All-State Baseball Teams. Carson made first team and Hunter made second team. In addition, Carson was selected as one of only 60 players nationwide for the MaxPreps 2017 Small Schools All-American Teams (second team). These players mostly come from schools that play in state enrollment divisions of less than 1,000 students.
Carson, a catcher and the MVP of the Bay County League, had impressive stats last season including a .494 batting average, 30 RBIs, 11 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 28 stolen bases, averaging one stolen base per game. Other honors that Carson received this year included MaxPreps 2017 All-Northern California Baseball Teams – Second Team, San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro Team and Prep2Prep All-North Coast Section Team.
Hunter, a pitcher, also had fantastic stats including a 1.31 ERA, 109 strikeouts and 58.2 innings pitched. Baseball honors that Hunter received included Prep2Prep All-North Coast Section Team and San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro Honorable Mention.
This fall, Carson will play baseball for Claremont McKenna College and Hunter will play for Pitzer College, both in southern California. Congratulations to Hunter and Carson on their impressive high school baseball careers and we wish them all the best in college.
