This past weekend, fifteen SJND students competed in the Alameda County Science Fair. All presented amazing projects, and many were recognized for their efforts as well. SJND is also extremely proud of our wonderful science teacher Ms. Laura Zamora, the recipient of the Alameda County Science Fair Teacher of the Year Award! And we honor all of our Pilots for their great projects and dedicated work in science:

  • Grant Bevan and Cooper Teare received honorable mention Environmental Science division.
  • Morgan Griffith received honorable mention Environmental Science division.
  • Rachel Hungerford and Emily Stehr received 2nd place in the Environmental Science division; the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) honorable mention; the American Meteorological Society Outstanding Achievement for ability and creativity in atmospheric science; and the U.S Stockholm Junior Water Prize Regional Award
  • Meredith McMurray received honorable mention in the Physical Science division
  • Diego Sanchez and Miracris Villanueva received honorable mention in the Botany division.

In addition, Mary Carmen Reid and Lucas Bayard, Anna Serbin, Emily Prislin and Hannah Karlsrud, and Keira Marshall and Rebecca Rochlin also participated in the Science Fair. You all make us proud to be Pilots!
