Scholarship Offers Abound for Graduates

The graduating class of 2013 was offered $3.6 million in college scholarships and awards, a 15 percent increase over last year. Graduates were accepted to their primary choice of science schools, a host of well-known private universities and California's top universities.

A majority of graduates received at least one scholarship offer or award. Six graduates who signed letters of intent to be collegiate athletes also received scholarship and award offers.

Rose Lassalle-Klein is just one of the graduates who received multiple scholarship offers. She was accepted to Seattle University's biology/pre-medical program and won the two highest merit-based scholarships offered by university (including the $18,000 annual Trustees Scholarship), as well as other generous scholarship offers from Gonzaga, Santa Clara and USF.

"We are so delighted by the generous scholarship offers Rose has received and proud of how she has developed intellectually and personally at SJND," her father Bob Lassalle-Klein said. "Most important to us is the kind of person Rose has become."

Rose's sister, Kate '12, also received multiple scholarship offers last year, including: $40,000 from Santa Clara University, where she will be a sophomore in the fall.
