SJND Presents ‘Chicago’ March 1-4, 2018
Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School students will take the stage at The Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts in Oakland for a performance of Tony Award-winning musical “Chicago” on March 1-4, 2018.
Written by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse and adapted by David Thompson, "'Chicago' follows chorine Roxie Hart who murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another 'Merry Murderess,' Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the 'American Dream': fame, fortune, and acquittal."
Each year, the SJND Visual and Performing Arts Department presents a Spring Musical, featuring dozens of talented SJND students who shine in the performances. Three students who performed in last year’s Spring Musical, “The Wiz,” were named finalists in the Rita Moreno High School Musical Honors award competition for their roles.
Tickets for the performances, evening and matinee, are now available for purchase. Online ticket sales end four hours prior to the performance time. If you'd like to buy tickets after that time, you are welcome to do so at the theater.
Please note that there is limited parking at the theater, so audience members are encouraged to take public transportation or use a ride-sharing service. For additional information about the theater and performances, including showtimes, please click the link below.
