SJND Welcomes New College Counselor
Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School looks forward to welcoming Allison Yee to campus this fall as our new College Counselor. Ms. Yee brings a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to the position, having worked in both high school and college admissions settings.
Ms. Yee comes to SJND from University of California, Berkeley where she served as an Assistant Director of Admissions since 2015. Prior to UC Berkeley, she worked as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor at Dominican University of California and as the Assistant Director of Admissions at Holy Names High School in Oakland. She received her M. Ed in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington in 2010 and her B.A. in Mass Communications with a Portuguese minor from UC Berkeley in 2008.
As College Counselor, Ms. Yee will oversee SJND’s four-year College Counseling Program, while working closely with each student’s personal/academic counselor, who ensure that our students are set up for success throughout their high school career. SJND’s College Counseling Program takes a holistic approach to the college search, application, and decision process. Beginning freshman year, the College Counselor and personal/academic counselor work with each student to prepare he/she/they for the college application process, with the intention of finding and ultimately enrolling in schools that will be the best fit for their talents, interests and life goals.
Ms. Yee joins our talented Counseling team, which includes Mr. Gunty, Ms. Sabia, Mrs. Stehr and Ms. DeMesa.
“I am excited to join the supportive community at SJND and work with high school students again on a daily basis,” says Ms. Yee. "I look forward to bringing my knowledge about college admissions to SJND while also learning from the students and faculty here.”
Please join us in wishing Ms. Yee a very warm welcome to the SJND community!
