Tremendous Fall Seasons for Pilots Athletes

This fall, SJND's women's golf, men's and women's cross country, women's tennis and women's volleyball teams thrived and collectively scored one of SJND's strongest fall seasons across sports.

Victor Quintell and Al Wagner have coached both the men’s and women’s golf teams since 2007. This fall, the women’s golf team had a record season, an undefeated 9-0 season, winning the Tri County Athletic League, and on to North Coast Section. Congratulations to our women golfers! Coaches Quintell and Wagner are extremely proud and grateful to their golfers for their hard work this season.

Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams were undefeated in league and TCAL champions this season. For women’s cross country, this is a school record. Tony Fong, who has been SJND’s dedicated coach for 16 years, has had a remarkable season and is delighted by his athletes’ determination and strength this season. The teams compete in NCS, and (fingers crossed) state!

SJND’s women’s tennis team finished a great season with 10 wins and 10 graduating seniors led by coaches Hedy Hightower and Tim. Headed to TCAL championships are Savannah Fisher, Aysha Hayes, Nicole Bermundez, Claire and Lauren Rondenet and then on to NCS.

Women’s varsity volleyball, coached by Nicole Hagan and Jocelyn Matthews, had a tremendous 10-0 season as well, with lots of community support and a highly successful charity event in October to help fight breast cancer.

Celebrations and best of luck for strong season finishes to our Pilot athletes!
