Daily Schedule

Bell Schedule Experimentation 19-20

During the 2019-2020 school year, SJND will experiment with new bell schedules as part of our current Educational Improvement Plan (or EIP). To learn more about this process and descriptions for the special periods outlined in the experimental schedules, please click "learn more." To view the Experiemental Bell Schedules, please click the link below.

Upon completion of each bell schedule experimentation window, students and Faculty will be given the opportunity to give specific feedback regarding each bell schedule option. This feedback is important to us as we continue to enhance the school’s academic and co-curricular programs.

Dennis Uniform Update

Due to shopping patterns in the area serviced by the San Leandro branch, Dennis Uniform has shifted from “in-store” to “on-line” service. As a result, Dennis Uniform has decided to consolidate the San Leandro location into the San Francisco location (590 10th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103).

Although there will be no physical location to visit in San Leandro, effective now, Dennis Uniform will be “rolling back” their prices for all school uniforms by 15% and offer FREE EXPRESS SHIPPING over $25!

We are coordinating with Dennis Uniform to have fitting events on campus at SJND for new students and possibly have some physical sizes on site for students to try on before ordering online.

Dennis uniform would like to thank our families in advance for your understanding. Be assured that families will continue to receive the same great service whether they shop online or decide to visit our San Francisco location.

We will share the dates for fitting events once the dates are finalized.

Outerwear Policy and Pre-Orders 19-20

For the 19-20 academic year, SJND has made a change in the school's Outerwear Dress Policy. The new policy reads:

Sweatshirts and Outerwear: Only school-authorized SJND sweatshirts and outerwear must be worn at all times. This includes:

  • Jackets or sweatshirts purchased from The Runway Store or Dennis Uniform.
  • Outerwear provided by curricular or co-curricular programs such as Athletics and clubs.

We have made this change in the Outerwear Policy for several reasons, but most importantly for safety reasons. As listed in the Handbook general policy on Dress Code, ”to ensure a safe community where all students are easily identifiable.” We take seriously the mandate to easily identify students by their dress.

As a result of this change, we are providing new outerwear options for purchase. Click the link below to view the outerwear options. All pre-order items will be processed in August, October, December, and March and will take 4-6 weeks to be available for pick up.

Parent Involvement

A core component for student success at SJND is a strong partnership between the school and home. The most important support from family is helping with homework and other curricular-related activities, as well as planning, helping with good decision-making and supporting a student's spiritual and moral development.

SJND parents are also asked to volunteer at the school—both to help improve the school and to be role models for the importance of education and service for their children.
